Ikea hack: Cat litter cabinet
I’m officially obsessed. As I try to clean up the house I’ve noticed litter pebbles scattered throughout my living room which has led to me to look into a way to contain these little suckers. After browsing around ikeahacker.blogspot.com, I’ve found a nifty little hack that I’ve modified to suit my own needs. The original hack uses the Hol storage compartment as a feeding station, but I’ve decided to use it as the litter box. Woohoo, pebbles no more.

After a quick 15 minutes setting up and playing around with the new digg, I can tell that I definitely won’t be missing the old version. It helps digg feel more personal, providing news relevant to each user – custom tailored to their social graph and interests. Awesome stuff.

Ikea hack: 2-tier desktop
I’ve recently bought a house and have been doing a lot of renovations, which has naturally led me to becoming obsessed with ikea hacks as I try to find cheap yet smart solutions to everything around my house.
This one was inspired by a hack found on ikeahacker.blogspot.com, but using an ekby hensvik shelf instead of a lack - overall better finish but a little pricier. it has a white gloss surface which goes perfectly with mac accessories if you’re a bit ocd about these things like me.

So i goofed up yesterday by overwriting my food.rasterboy.com stylesheet with a client’s, destroying a few weeks worth of work in the process. After freaking out for a bit I decided to reach out to Dreamhost’s online support. Luckily, they provide automatic backups everyday so I was able to recover the files from a previous state in a matter of few clicks. Thanks guys, you rock.
